If you are considering an assessment and would like to have an informal, no obligation chat about your concerns, please give me a call or drop me a line to arrange a convenient time..

Before the first appointment I will send you a questionnaire to complete.  We can discuss this in person at the first appointment or in advance via video call.  

At the first appointment, I will observe your child's speech, language and communication during play and conversation.  I may also carry out assessment using toys, pictures or books.

The initial assessment fee includes assessment materials, scoring and analysis time, and a report including assessment results and recommendations.

I may be able to write my report after the first appointment or further assessment appointments may be required (charged at therapy rate).

Therapy may involve a range of different activities depending on your child's needs, interests and skills.  These will always be play-based, with a focus on evidence-based, effective and efficient therapy techniques, combined with fun!  

I may lead the activities, with you observing (direct therapy) or I may guide you with strategies as you play with your child (indirect therapy).  I will give you ideas for how to support your child in between sessions.

Therapy sessions will usually last one hour but may be shorter or longer, depending on the needs of your child.  They will usually be 1:1 but group sessions may be available.

Therapy fees includes time spent outside the session goal setting, therapy planning, progress monitoring and communicating with you and other professionals.

Travel costs and time are charged separately.

You may choose to have your appointment at my clinic, at your home or at any other location such as a school or nursery. Mileage will be chargeable from my clinic base and travel time over 20 minutes.

Therapy goals and short progress reports are included in the therapy fee.  Additional reports will be charged at my therapy rate. 

I

Communication and collaboration with educators and other health professionals is essential for a holistic approach to supporting your child.  Most face-to-face, telephone and email communication are included in the therapy session fee.  Attendance at meetings and extended telephone calls are charged at my therapy rate.
