About Me

I have 25 years’ experience working with children as a Speech and Language Therapist.

Following a BA in English Language and Literature, I completed my Masters Degree in Human Communication Studies at Sheffield University, to qualify as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) in 2000.

My career began with the NHS in County Durham, where I became a Highly Specialist SLT, specialising in Speech Disorders and Developmental Language Impairment.

I also worked as a Speaking and Listening Consultant for an Education Action Zone project, training and working with teaching staff to improve the communication skills of all children in local mainstream primary schools and nurseries.

In 2008 I moved to Singapore, where I worked for 16 years as an independent Speech and Language Therapist.  I worked with children and young people in local and international schools, and trained adults in how to identify and support those with speech, language and communication needs.  â€‹

Having returned to my hometown of Bury St Edmunds, I now work with children, their families and educators, at home, in education or childcare settings, or in my home clinic.  I specialise in speech sound difficulties, difficulties using or understanding language, and difficulties with reading and writing.

I am registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
